The 35th Annual Poke Salad Festival
May 7th - 9th, 2009
Blanchard, Louisiana
Once again the Annual Poke Salad Festival Association is making plans to bring a great celebration to the Town of Blanchard on Saturday May 9, 2009, with activities leading up to the festival starting with the first daily clue for the Poke Salad Treasure Hunt on Monday May 4, 2009. Long-time Poke Salad Festival sponsors, Tim’s Paint and Collision and American Dust Control team up with the Poke Salad Festival Association on the $1,500.00 prize, making the Treasure Hunt one of the most popular festival events. Check here for the daily clues, usually up before 8:00 each morning.
Considering all of the news and drilling activity related to the Haynesville Shale that has transpired since the last festival, we thought it would only be appropriate to pay tribute to this very exciting news story. With that in mind, the theme for this year’s festival is:
“Poke Salad Festival 2009 - One Shale of a Time!”
For a second year, the committee will be asking store owners in the downtown Blanchard area to decorate their store fronts to show their Poke Salad spirit. Winners of the Store Front Decoration Contest will receive gift cards to Office Depot sponsored by S & J Technologies.

The pre-sale tickets for the arm bands and t-shirts will be available in local retail outlets in Blanchard such as Cliff's Corner, Blanchard 66, Blanchard Insurance, The Gift House, and Pizza King.
New Announcement - We will have the return of American Championship Professional Wrestling at the Pavilion - FREE- on Thursday night May 7th, 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
